Peiner's design philosophy has continually revolved around the idea of making grabs which deal with the biggest volume instead of grab dead weight. Normally, the bucket and grab lifting ratio's meaning that 60 percent of material is dead weight vs. 40 percent grab dead weight. This means transporting greater quantities of supplies faster. There is less wear and tear on the crane structure and its related parts.
