Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries during 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into production with light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic downturn in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the first years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Thus, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine has to be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC equipment.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are ideal for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
