When there are accidents related to forklifts, both the business and the individual would suffer. There are many reasons why employers need to take steps to reduce the risk. One of the biggest reasons is to avoid possibility of lawsuits if someone is injured. Second, accidents cut down on working time. Thirdly, goods and property can be damaged during accidents. Nearly all accidents are attributed to employees who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that employees who are utilizing the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to use the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a visible location all forklift safety procedures.
Instead of going through training because staff are required to, they must have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help employees understand the significance of correct training. Let them understand that they could injure or kill not only themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to make certain that all your employees undertake training seriously.
