Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive study into the operators working conditions. The main goal is to be able to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is gently rounded and really comfortable. This particular area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, in order to keep the operator working as efficiently as possible.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable in order to maintain an optimum working position. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 simple to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers which are provided for the horn, window washers, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
A ventilation/heating unit ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, heating and cooling. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units which are all within easy reach. Standard instrumentation consists of: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.
One of the important options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks can be equipped with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors that take place and their current values.
